North of the Alsace plain, the Undivided Forest of Haguenau with an area of 13,406 hectares is part of the 6th largest forest massif in France, which spans 21,000 hectares.
This forest massif forms a plant screen over 30 km from west to east and 10 km from north to south. On foot or by bike, a rich forest to discover all year round, throughout the seasons, where the landscape is punctuated by colors and smells.
Its location in a plain area makes the Undivided Forest of Haguenau the only representative of the northern forests of France, at the transition between temperate and boreal forests.
Scots pine and oak each occupy a little more than a third of the surface; Then come beech (8%) and birch (7%) which developed in the storm of 1999.
