It's name ("the hoof" in Bulgarian) came from it's shape when it is seen from the sky. Kopitoto is just next to the television tower that is visible from parts of Sofia.
On the night you can see a thousand lights of Sofia house. There are a lot of people there but to reach the view you should pass the spooky abandoned lift station that is used for a toilet by the dummy people...
This place is overcrowded at 23:45 on 31 dec because it is easily accessible by car and offer a really nice view to the fireworks over Sofia so if you want to be there keep in mind to go earlier (and warmy dressed) so you won't celebrate the new year in your car :-) (you should have good winter tires and car chains if the weather is snowy because this is a national park and it is only treated with a sand - no other substances)
