    Hiking

You almost have the feeling of being in Sylt, beautiful typical Atlantic beaches and great dune landscapes for endless walks, fantastically beautiful only everything is much bigger.
    Always worth a visit.

Step onto the Atlantic White Cedar Swamp Trail for an easy 1.3 miles (2.1 km) hike through a truly unique ecosystem. You will gain 73 feet (22 metres) in elevation over an estimated 33 minutes, making this a quick and accessible outdoor experience. The route takes you from shaded pine and oak forests into a dense Atlantic white cedar swamp. Here, you will walk on an elevated wooden boardwalk, winding through stands of cedar trees, mosses, and ferns, creating an otherworldly atmosphere.

Before you go, know that the trail is not wheelchair accessible due to stairs and sandy sections along the path. You should wear appropriate footwear for both the boardwalk and the sandy return route. Insect repellent is also advisable, especially during warmer months when mosquitoes are more prevalent. Plan your visit to enjoy the tranquil environment.

This trail offers a glimpse into a distinct natural environment within the Cape Cod National Seashore. It is known for its unique Atlantic white cedar swamp, an ecosystem where you might spot local wildlife like frogs or various bird species. After your hike, you can explore the nearby Marconi Wireless Station Viewpoint for historical context and expansive ocean views.
