The chain forging museum in Fröndenberg / Ruhr was built in the former warehouse of the Himmelmann paper mill. It was built within three years and opened on May 9, 1999. The equipment includes a forge fire from 1910, which was used in the Ruhrland chain factory Wilhelm Prünte. It shows the artisanal production of chains, as it used to be done by chain smiths.
