Heading west, this is a pleasant dip on the quiet back lane from Stamford to Oakham, via Casterton and Burley. Be wary of oncoming cars on the narrow bridge at the bottom of the dip. The road passes Horn Mill Trout Farm. Not far off to the north of this climb were the old ironstone quarry railway lines that linked this area to what is now the Rocks by Rail museum at Cottesmore.
