From the Vögeim via the Oberhüttensee, the ascent from the south-east can be done in about 2 1/2 to 3 hours. After the Oberhüttensee, the path becomes consistently steep. An absolutely doable route up to the top of the grade between the two limestone peaks. The remaining meters to the Steirische Kalkspitze then require sure-footedness and a head for heights and is not necessarily something for the inexperienced. A few climbing inserts are included. However, the view at the top makes it worth it.
I can recommend going north-west over the Meeregg back down to the Oberhütte am See. However, this path is not for the inexperienced! Sure-footedness and a head for heights are required here, as there are parts of the trail that go along the steep slope/ridge without any safety equipment and without the right path.
I do not recommend climbing the summit when it is wet and foggy! The danger here is simply too great!

Make sure to have good weather, attempting the ascent in foggy or wet conditions is dangerous. We turned around halfway
