The construction of the mansion, initiated by order of the Bessarabian politician Constantin Mimi, was finished in 1900. Its architecture was taken from French practice. This was due to the fact that Mimi had studied viticulture and vinification in Montpellier, a prolific winemaker who dedicated his life to the vine, founded the first wine castle in the country and developed one of the most famous vineyards. It is considered that the mansion was the first real "chateau" in Bessarabia. Built with two floors of reinforced concrete (a novelty at the time), the castle was considered a modern building not only in Bender County, but throughout the county. The castle cellar had a capacity of 300,000 liters of wine stored in bins.

In 2011, the renovation of the architectural ensemble began, which was to become a point of attraction for tourists. With the reconstruction, the mansion also received the name of "Mimi Castle", in honor of its founder. Completion of the renovation works was planned for the fall of 2016.
