At this point, water flows into the Erft, which RWE pumps out of the opencast mines via wells. Almost all of the water from the opencast mining is "disposed of" here, only the water that would be too warm for the Erft is drained off via the edge canal.

The place can only be reached on foot or by bike. It is located on the Erft cycle path and is easy to discover because you can both see and hear the inflow.
