Friendly service, free ferry, runs all year round, every 5-10 minutes, depending on the number of volunteers. Probably only 2 cars enter, so I guess there are queues at certain times. Lovely area, great place for a walk, fishing, canoeing, etc. On the side of Orzechowo there is a monument with a plaque commemorating the tragedy that took place on the ferry before World War I. On Wednesday, May 27, 1903, at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, a boat with 35 children transported to the church in Dębno for preparation for confession was sunk. The carrier was 70-year-old Walenty Cichoń, who worked for 25 years in the profession. The immediate cause of the tragedy was the carelessness of Cichoń, who temporarily blocked the hole in the boat with tow. Eight communion girls were drowned, along with a carrier and his assistant. Apparently, it happens to this day, especially in bad weather, that the passengers are transported on the ferry by a mysterious Lord who has a Rosalka with him and whom no one recognizes later.
