The Cleansing House (Bet Tahara, "Mendelsohn's House") was built by a famous Jewish architect in 1913 and, along with the adjacent cemetery, served the local Jewish community until the outbreak of World War II. Not a single tombstone has survived, but the interior of Mendelsohn's house can be visited at certain times.
