Roman finds and walls were already noticed below the Ofnet caves in the 19th century. The exposed walls have been preserved since 1983 and offer visitors an impressive picture of rural life in Roman times on a farm in the remoteness of the Maienbach Valley.

The Ofnet caves themselves are among Bavaria's most beautiful geotopes (top 100).
