The Landheegen were a medieval border security. They were built by the Hessian Landgraviate to defend themselves against the Count of Nassau. At this point here was the indoor enclosure. This began 650 meters east of this point at the district boundary Rachelshausen / Runzhausen / Holzhausen (Burgstall Allerburg, presumed where the Hünstein Tower is today). It was 29 kilometers long and extended over the communities of Gladenbach, Lohra and Fronhausen and ended at the Röderheide settlement on the Lahn.
