Everyone can learn something about life in the forest here. The forest nature trail goes through the nature reserve Lohagen. There are always stations with information, actions and what to watch.
The forest and adventure trail could become one of the most beautiful tourist attractions for hikers and educationally interested groups. Johannes Illerhaus was involved in the development from the beginning by Hegering.
The enthusiasm for the project attracted 16 participants on Wednesday before the official opening. Invited had been the UWG.
The picturesque hiking region around the Lohagen has been exclusively enhanced by the tireless efforts of Karl-Heinz Tacke. The impressive wooden sculptures frame the promenade. They are anchored on solid wooden blocks with thick iron bars to prevent vandalism damage. They all also get a hat as a rain cover.
A hat as a rain cover for the sculptures The frames of the panels are still temporarily covered with plastic wrap to keep the printed information from getting wet.
Johannes Illerhaus knows: The small blemishes will be eliminated at the opening on 19th September. And: The forest trail will grow. It is planned to set up a Formicarium, an observatory for the local wood ants in appropriate place. During the preparation of the explanatory panels, care has been taken to ensure that the corresponding woody plants can be found in those locations.
At the edge of the trail you will find out about the local wildlife, the work of the forester and the hunter and even of the charcoal burner, because only a few meters behind the Scout Home you will find an old "Meilerplatz". The idea is to install a show meiler here. He would be the next path station behind the new rest area, which would like to spend the UWG for the forest nature trail. From the picturesque corner of the earth a fantastic view of Brenscheid is guaranteed. On tables and benches hikers can unpack the picnic basket here. In addition to the brambles, whose fruits Johanns Illerhaus can recommend: "The fear of fox tapeworm would be exaggerated."
That quite wild animals could cross the forest trail, can not be ruled out. Deer, wild boars, hares and Co. have their habitat at Lohagen. That's why every excursion takes care of the local flora and fauna.
