The monastery is the motherhouse of the religious order "Poor Service Maids of Jesus Christ", or the "Dernbacher Sisters" as they are called. The community was founded around 1845 by Maria Katharina Kasper, who was canonized in 2018. In the immediate vicinity of the monastery there is a cloister with a small chapel.
