Birkenau Castle was built in the second third of the 18th century in the late Baroque style in the town of the same name. A park is attached to the castle, which is privately owned by the Wamboldt von Umstadt family and cannot be visited. The park, which was originally designed in the French style but later in the English style, is divided into two parts by the road connecting Weinheim and Fürth. Beyond the street, the park borders the Weschnitz. With its old plane trees and oaks as well as the small pond, the castle park is an oasis of calm in the lively place on weekdays.
In addition to recreational activities, the park now serves as a venue for festivals, medieval markets and music events. The castle building can currently be rented for events and celebrations such as weddings. 🚴‍♂️
