The rose island (until the 19th century Wörth) is the only island in Lake Starnberg.

The Rose Island is located 170 meters from the western shore of the lake in the Feldafinger bay, at the height of the so-called bell ridge. The island belongs as a district Wörth (castle) to the municipality Feldafing, landowner is the Free State of Bavaria. The number of inhabitants is given as "1" (for the gardener who inhabits the island all year round).

For this island you should take the time for a side trip. The crossing takes place with a small ferry. On the island you will find wonderful ancient trees, up to 500 years old rose varieties and great views of the lake.
The garden was built by Maximilian II in 1850.
