The bridge is a great way to loop around the lake. Further north the gated, private Wintoon property blocks the forest road. Due to the creation of the reservoir, this section of the McCloud River is already part of the reservoir, flooded higher than its natural river bed. There is no current any more once on the reservoir, so paddling or a motor is necessary for moving on the water.
