    Antonius Church in Bad Saulgau
From 1756 onwards the church was renovated: 1756 Rococo stucco work in the choir by Anton Rebsamen, painter and later mayor of Saulgau, after 1758 the Antonius painting on the choir ceiling with the saint's "donkey miracle", after 1780 classicist altar paintings by an unknown painter, the Altarpieces have come off. In 1799, after the Battle of Ostrach on March 21, 1799, the church room was used as a military hospital.

The Buchau abbess (patron saint) founded a Franciscan monastery in the upper Saulgau suburb in 1646 during the Thirty Years' War. In 1664 the new “Franciscan Church” was consecrated, and in 1696 the adjoining monastery building. The first equipment is likely to have been limited to the bare essentials; it was not until the end of the 17th century that the monks were able to beautify their church thanks to many benefactors. The chapters in the nave, which were continued with wall paintings, date from this time. In 1738 the church received the gallery for holding the choir prayer and the clover leaf window.
