Known as the home of King Henry VIII, Hampton Court Palace is a magnificent royal palace on the outskirts of London. The palace's construction began in 1515 and it soon became the king's favourite residence. Various alternations were made to the palace over the following centuries, which is mostly built in the Tudor and Baroque styles.
The palace still belongs to the Queen and the Crown, but it is now a popular attraction. You can visit the Haunted Gallery, explore the stunning gardens and get lost in the maze. The palace is open from 10am - 4.30pm. Tickets for adults cost £22. More information: hrp.org.uk/hampton-court-palace/#gs.yipyfr
