Serra d'Ensija Hut

In September 1964, the Federation of Hiking Entities of Catalonia – then known as the Catalan Mountaineering Federation – inaugurated the Serra d’Ensija refuge, its eleventh mountain facility at that time. It followed the same architectural structure as the Sant Jordi and Estanys de la Pera refuges. Located in a magnificent corner surrounded by meadows, very close to its highest point in the Ensija range, Cap de la Gallina Pelada (2,321 m), it is an ideal facility both for spending the night and for stopping for a bite to eat. The access paths through the Llobateres ravine and Font Freda are a delight. It is also a magnificent place for winter snowshoe hiking, with mostly rounded mountain profiles, ideal for practicing this mountain discipline. A crossing point for the Tora Blava traverse, you can also make several mountain ski excursions. Ensija is the only guarded refuge in this pre-Pyrenean mountain range, which hides many hidden treasures. Now it's just a matter of discovering them. Services at the refuge:

A classic of the area but a must-see

For me it is one of the nicest refuges in the area, small and cozy.
