Location: Neubeuern, Landkreis Rosenheim, Upper Bavaria, Bavaria, Germany
In Neubeuern, the history of every single house around the market square is well documented - the former pastor Josef Reuder can trace the history of most houses back to the 16th century without any gaps. Comparatively little is known about the gate towers of the market.
Today, the gate towers in Neubeuern make a rather peaceful impression: the one in the south-east, the so-called Salzburg Tower, with its lattice window looks directly homely and if there were geraniums in front of it, it would almost have something of Spitzweg about it. The northern one, the so-called Munich Tower, with its curved lines, looks downright playful anyway.

Beautiful city gate, built in the same way as the "Munich Gate". I was actually afraid that it would be quite battered due to its location, but fortunately that is not the case.
