The cycle path, which opened at the beginning of October 2020, runs along an approximately 3 km long section of the Vaihingen (Enz) Nord - Enzweihingen railway line. This is a disused standard gauge branch line (opened in 1904) with a length of 7.33 kilometers that connected Enzweihingen via Vaihingen Stadt with Vaihingen (Enz) Nord station.
The cycle path now connects the DB Vaihingen/Enz station with Kehlstrasse. The cycle path has right of way at intersections with roads! The cycle path can be easily reached from Kaltenstein Castle.
