The hydraulic work has undergone a major modernization and targeted reconstruction after the 2012 earthquake had heavily damaged it compromising its total functionality.Today the innovative latest generation dewatering system, perfectly integrated into the surrounding landscape and with an environmental impact almost imperceptible being largely underground, it is capable of lifting up to 50,000 liters per second to put them directly into the Secchia and into the new sewer drain on the Secchia that protects the territory from floods of the river.
In addition, the new irrigation lifting system guarantees the water resource for high-quality agriculture in an area of about 30,000 hectares in the Modenese plain on the left of Secchia, which produces and exports pears, Lambrusco and Parmigiano Reggiano. Easily accessible in any season of the year, as it is bordered by an asphalted road suitable for all types of bicycles

A must if you walk along the bank of the Secchia between Concordia and Bondanello. A short distance away there is also a refreshment area with table, benches and waste bins, excellent for a stop in the countryside.
