The West Allgäu Local History Museum is one of the most important museums in the West Allgäu, in the heart of Weiler.
The museum is spread over four floors of the 350-year-old former guest house. It shows various living spaces such as the kitchen, living room, bedroom and children's room from the Gothic period to modern times. The rooms are richly furnished with furniture, pictures and everyday objects from the respective eras. A kitchen with exquisitely beautiful stoneware and a variety of everyday equipment shines with a sideboard from 1781.

On the ground floor, in addition to a collection of excellent reverse glass paintings from all over the world, the entire merchant's shop of the Grüßer family from the 18th century has been rebuilt.

The wheel hoods that are also on display were not really part of everyday life. On the other hand, however, are the straw hats, ladies' hats and top hats, which point to another branch of production in Weiler, hat manufacturing. The corresponding sewing and other machines can be found on the upper floor.
