Very interesting castle ruin that was built as a romantic castle ruin. By delving into its history, it will be possible to understand the previous sentence. The castle was erected as an artificial castle ruin at the end of the 18th century (construction started in 1794). The building was to resemble the ruins of a castle and was to be a kind of tourist attraction, which was to relieve the Książ Castle from tourists. An interesting fact is that as a result of archaeological research it is known that the Stary Książ Castle was built on the ruins of a real medieval castle, which was probably built at the end of the 13th century. During the research, it was also discovered that this medieval castle was built on the site of a stronghold dating from the 9th - 10th centuries.
