Schijnvliegveld De Kiek, also known as Decoy Airfield De Kiek, is a unique historical site nestled between the villages of Alphen and Riel in North Brabant, Netherlands. This former World War II German decoy airfield, situated at an elevation of 24 meters, was ingeniously designed to mimic the nearby Gilze-Rijen airfield, diverting Allied bombing raids. Today, it stands as a poignant reminder of wartime deception, set amidst heath and forest, alongside the popular Bels Lijntje cycling path.

Well worth a visit on a beautiful cycle path.
The mock airport of WWII quickly gives you a realistic picture of how it must have been here many years ago.
The command bunker can also be viewed here.

During the Second World War, Germany put the Gilze-Rijen airfield into use. The Allies tried to bomb this. To prevent the airport from being destroyed, the mock airfield De Kiek has been realized between Alphen and Riel. Reliving False Airfield De Kiek aims to relive this event of WWII. By designing the area, refurbishing the bunker, placing the aircraft and telling the story via information panels, the stories aim to be visible and experienced. We work together with a Brabant artist, veterans, local history circles and various associations and citizens.
