Even Goethe found praise for the wines of Kallmuth: it is still one of the most famous and best locations in Franconia. Typical Franconian wines of special quality grow in unique terrain on shell limestone soil, which protrudes above the Buntsandstein. And the history goes back a long way: viticulture on Kallmuth has been documented since the 11th century and was systematically expanded by the monks of the Triefensteiner monastery.

Nice view of the vineyards. However, if you want to see more vineyards, it is best to choose a stage on the Main Cycle Path between Volkach and Karlstadt. Much larger wine-growing areas such as Volkach and Sommerach are located here.
