At an astonishing 12,637 feet (3,852 meters), Humphreys Peak is the highest elevation in the U.S. state of Arizona. At its base is a ski resort and snowfall can still occur here in early May. You can reach the summit by hiking about 4.8 miles (7.7 kilometers).

Humphreys Peak was named in 1870 after General Andrew A. Humphreys, who fought in the American Civil War. The peak is located in the San Francisco Mountains. From the Arizona Trail you still have a nice view of the mountain. Even from the Grand Canyon it is still visible.
