This is the second blue lake in the Hanover area (after the Blue Lake in Misburg Nord and the one in Garbsen). It also emerged as a quarry pond for the expansion of the A2 towards Berlin, it is located in the Ahlten Forest Conservation Area. It is a fishing pond that is also used by many for swimming. Next to it is a second, private lake, which is called the Müllersee
