Best Hikes to Eagle's Eye Viewing Platform

Tips

  • You can pay 60 lev (30 EUR) for a jeep to drive you up to the Eagle's eye (you can split the price among 4-5 people), but it is FAR better to hike from the village of Jagodina. This way you keep your kidneys and backbone healthy (the jeep road is VERY shaky) and you can spend as much time up on the bridge as you want. And of course, the hikes up and down are VERY beautiful.

  • Spectacular viewing platform that juts out from Sveti Elia into the Jagodina Gorge. Beautiful distant view from the summit to the west towards the Pirin Mountains and to the northwest towards the Rila Mountains. Directly opposite in the gorge are the Devil's Bridges, which are not visible due to the forest. Tourists are now being carried up here in jeeps - often from loudspeakers with the singing of Valya Balkanska. Their impressive voice is also on the Voyager Golden Record on the Voyager 1 probe, which is now more than 150 AU away with about 20 hours of communication delay in the north over the solar system on the border with the helicopter break ... Have a good trip, your voice, and appreciate Listener in the cosmos, Valya!
And I agree with Boji. The footpaths up to Sveti Elija are very beautiful, and in the evening I could almost always enjoy the sunset here in peace.
