The Felsenweg connects the Leiteralm with the Hochmuth as part of the Meraner Höhenweg. The path is quite exposed, but consistently very easy to walk on.

Actually, this is the Hans-Frieden-Weg which is part of the Meraner Höhenweg

For this section you should be free from giddiness and sure-footed. In addition, it is not advisable to walk here in the worst heat or after rainfall.

Also called the No. 24, you surround here the mountain massif of the Texelgruppe.

The circular route consists of a northern part, which leads from the Schnalstal to Passeier, and a longer, southern section, from Passeier to Schnalstal.

The northern section requires conditioning for high alpine tours, while the southern part can be mastered by less experienced hikers.

It depends on when you go. Absolute peace here is rather less because many tourists go here during the holiday season

The Meraner Höhenweg is sometimes very heavily committed. Is partially exposed something.
The Vellauer Felsenweg is only recommended for those who are free from giddiness and with good footwear

The Meraner Höhenweg can easily be walked on this section. Compared to the Vellauer Felsenweg not so narrow and often under trees.

The Vellauer Felsenweg, a path close to the abyss that connects Vellau with the Muthöfen, offers fantastic views of the Adige Valley.
    Surefootedness and reassurance are required.

Incredibly beautiful views of the valley. However, one should be free from giddiness. Tight places are fixed with guide ropes, but the rock on the other side goes down steeply.

At the moment the Vellauer Felsenweg is closed because of work. (17.09.18)

The actual Felsenweg with the good view is only about 1.5 km long, but can be well linked with the Meraner Höhenweg as a circular route.

The section of the Meraner Höhenweg between the Leiteralm and the Berggasthof Steinegg offers several fantastic views of the Meraner Land as far as the Penegal in the south. The nature of the trail is good overall and the slight incline between the two corners allows rapid hiking. However, one should also be aware that the very good accessibility of the route by means of the cable cars from Dorf Tirol and Algund attracts a very large number of hikers.

Fantastic views to the south, but sometimes also a lot of public traffic. The Hochmuth cable car and the Korblift outgoing from Vellau provide for appropriate visitors on this route.

Fantastic views, in the heat rather early start, have enough to drink. Closed in September 2018 due to construction
