Perched on the summit of Mount Pirchiriano, the Sacra is one of the symbols of Piedmont and is located right at the beginning of the Susa valley. It is said that Umberto Eco drew inspiration from the Sacra di San Michele for the famous abbey in the novel "The Name of the Rose".
