The Zuckerhütl, the highest mountain in the Stubai Alps, used to be the epitome of a perfect firnhorn. The Zuckerhütl still has the bold shape, but the "sugar" has melted more and more over the years. Where previously a steep firn ridge led to the summit all year round, you now climb through the brittle rock with the second degree of difficulty. However, this has not affected the popularity of the Zückerhütl. Which - thanks to the cable car support - is also due to the short approach and the ascent almost degrades to a half-day tour. Nevertheless, one should not underestimate this tour, which is due on the one hand to the cracked glacier and on the other hand to the time pressure due to the operating hours of the cable car. Because slow climbers often miss the last cable car into the valley.
