The St. Anthony's Monastery was named after the great St. Anthony, the father of all monks in the world and star of the desert. It is located in the Waldsolms area in the lower Taunus. The monastery houses the first church in Europe built in the Coptic style, a domed structure with a separate bell tower. It was decorated with modern icons and frescoes by Egyptian artists. The monastery is also a center for Coptic Christians from all over western Germany, who come here for seminars, meetings, and other events.
