Originally the Teterow arable citizens grazed their cattle on the castle wall island. At some point they created a small ferry connection between the island and the mainland. Over time, the island became a popular destination. A restaurant was built on the island and a passenger ferry was put into operation. It is still like that today. The castle wall ferry operates from Easter to September to the castle wall island.
