Mountain Biking Highlight
On the floods of the 105-kilometer-long Alpine river, the wood for the firing of the side ovens for salt extraction was floated in recent days. In the area of the Luitpold weir and the Luitpold bridge in the upper town of Bad Reichenhall, the wood was led to large trift places in the area of today's New Saline.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Saalach power plant was built here. It was used to power the train and is still in operation today.
