Golden Egg Sculpture by Magdalena Jetelová (WaldSkulpturenWeg)

In 2007, the Czech sculptor and photographer Magdalena Jetelová controls the large sculpture What was first? to the forest sculpture path at. The golden egg is 6.50 m high and 4 m in diameter about 100 times as big as a chicken egg and shimmers fascinating and impressive in the middle of the forest landscape of the Rothaargebirge. Size and light reflections make it so present that the egg acts as an initial element and prototype of life into the landscape and becomes part of it. Reduced to the essential, it becomes the symbol and symbol of life that produces and sustains life. For the stability of the sculpture, a foundation made of reinforced concrete was built; The stability of the sculpture itself is ensured by a steel skeleton inside. The surface is made of synthetic resin or cast resin with glass fiber insert and was modeled in the lamination process in the studio of Magdalena Jetelová and covered with gold leaf.
