About halfway along the rim trail this installation uses the exceptional vantage point for communication and monitoring of wildfires. It is the only major man-made object along the otherwise pristine nature on the rim. The views from the edge of the rim are spectacular, as are the sunsets. Flat campsites are all around the area, particularly scenic at the rim.
