This is one of four junctions the PCT has with this dirt/gravel road within a couple of miles after crossing to the western side of Hwy 299. The dirt road is essentially parallel to the PCT for a couple of miles so it can be nice if two or three people want to walk next to one another for a little. The forest here was destroyed by fire a couple of years ago so there's no shade but also nothing interesting to see.
