Hochgehütet Premium Hiking Trail

Every hiker should be careful not to think about this premium hiking trail that it is a trail like many others. After a few meters you can feel it - it is something very special. The so-called Beutenlay, the approx. 800 m high local mountain of Münsingen, allows today a glimpse into the past. When all the fields had not yet been divided and straightened in a machine-friendly manner, the Alb looked as you can still see it here. Hut forests, so-called single-mowed meadows (only mowed once a year), sheep pastures with juniper on a species-rich limestone grassland, forest edges, field trees and hedges can be admired in a very small space.Numerous viewpoints, loungers and seating options let the hikers get away from everyday life and allow them to take in the special features of the area. It is not uncommon to see large flocks of sheep here that have been carefully guarded by the shepherd and his dogs for hundreds of years across the pastures.
