This monument reminds of the former place Kinzbach (Kunigesbach), which existed at this point.
Due to the rapidly shrinking population due to the plague, the place was abandoned at the end of the 17th century.
There is a legend about this place about the so-called "Kinzbachfraache" (Kinzbachfrau), which is said to have wept through the woods at night long after the place was left.
