It was built in 1915/1916 by Russian prisoners of war based on the example of the Leipzig Völkerschlachtdenkmal under the military construction manager K.u.K. Bruck-Kiralyhida military camp built.The monument is 24 m high and is said to be the third highest in Central Europe.In 1917 the inauguration took place and Günter Gottlieb enriched the dome with the painting "The Temptation of Jesus". The monument was bearing the coats of arms of Austria and Hungary and the coat of arms of the House of Habsburg-Lothringen
provided and got the inscription "The fallen in the world war".
