Old Town of Lovran

The pretty town of Lovran is located six kilometers south of Opatija and is named after the evergreen and healing laurel. Lovran can be reached on foot along the promenade from Opatja. The small town has an impressive historical heritage, a centuries-old tourism tradition, making it an ideal vacation spot. The old town is on a small peninsula. The houses in the old fortified town lean against the town wall, of which only a few original parts have survived. Only a tower and the Stubiza Gate have survived.
