The River Wey flows from two distinct sources, one in Alton and one in Haslemere. It travels generally north east through pretty, rural landscape, eventually becoming a tributary to the River Thames. This bridge lies in the south of Guildford and has lovely stone steps either side.

The North Downs Way crosses the bridge and the Wey-South Path passes by. There are footpaths going in all four directions from the span.
