The ancestral home of the Berghe von Trips family since the 14th century, the complex came into the possession of the Barons von Eynatten in the first half of the 18th century, who had the imposing complex remodeled and expanded in the Baroque style. The castle complex has been a listed building since August 18, 1982. At the beginning of the 21st century, its two outer castles were remodeled and expanded and have since served as a retirement and nursing home as well as senior citizen apartments. Trips Castle is therefore generally not open to visitors.
