Wolfsburg water educational trail: The fountain and spring hike on the water educational trail in Wolfsburg leads to numerous stations related to water. The entire route is around 12 km, but can also be shortened. Smaller children can easily cover the route in a buggy or stroller. The path leads to pumps, springs, ponds and wells across the city forest. [from baby age]
The dragonfly symbol puts families on the right path on the fountain and spring hike in Wolfsburg.
The starting point for the fountain and spring hike is the square in front of the VW bathroom, where, in addition to drinking water dispensers and natural stones, there is also an information board showing the route of the path. The brochure from the Wolfsburg municipal utilities, which runs the water educational trail and every now and then adds a new object, is also helpful.
From here the family turns either in the direction of the “Three Stones” or the fountain to the Kaiserstuhl. The lava stone in the shape of a throne provides hikers with fresh water. The route continues idyllically through the Hasselbachtal to the Ziehbrunnen and the Libellengrund.
Other stops on the hike include the rest area at the old carp ponds, the charcoal burner's fountain and the beetle trough. In between, the view falls to the elevated drinking water tank in Nordsteimke. With a capacity of 45 million liters, it serves to meet drinking water needs.
Of course, everyone wants to try the vintage hand-held pump to see if it can produce water, while salamanders or rare bird species might be discovered at the water mill wheel. Information about the objects complements the water nature trail around the Hasselbach and Rabenberg.
