The ruins of the hilltop castle are located at 650 m above sea level above the narrowest point of the Homburg Valley, which is named after it. It can be reached on foot in about 30 minutes from the SBB stations Buckten and Läufelfingen and from Bad Ramsach. The paths are signposted in yellow. From the observation platform of the residential tower you have a view of the surrounding Jura heights.

Natalo's tip refers to the Homburg ruins, which are located near Läufelfingen. You can't see much of the ruins of Alt Homeburg. The Homburg family apparently "moved" from Wittnau to Läufelfingen :-)
