The windcock is at 517 m above sea level. NN the highest elevation of the Siegerland Northern Hellerbergland, a mountain range often called Windhahn, on the northeast border between Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia. It is separated by the Niederschelden-Betzdorfer Siegtal der Sieg from the north-west adjoining Giebelwald and by the Mittlere Hellertal der Heller from the southern Hellerbergland to the south.

The summit is largely free of trees, and you have a wonderful view from up here.

For this view it is always worthwhile to dare to climb the Windhahn. Less than 15 to 20 minutes from the Ottoturm.
