The last ascent on the small Nörderberg is again strenuous, but a highlight for everyone who likes to do a little off-roading. A path is difficult to see, but you can find your way around with the help of the hiking markings. Sometimes it goes relatively steeply over meadows and scree, surefootedness is required both on the ascent and descent. The path leads past the homes of marmots. The nimble, shy little animals can be seen every now and then and especially heard when entering their terrain before they disappear into their burrow. Therefore, caution is advised here before the entrances to the underground tunnel systems. As a good guest, you don't rest too long in their area, but take the direct route to the summit. A short picnic break on the rocky summit with a wonderful view of the surrounding snow-covered mountains and the reservoir in the valley is worthwhile before you descend on the same path.

The 360 degree view is fantastic and you can see almost all the mountain tours all around. So good for the first or last day in the Kaunertal. Easy way from the Ochsenalm car park to the summit, also good to do with children in about 2.5 hours. Take enough drinking water with you.
