The Gederner See is almost 13 hectares in size, it lies on the edge of the nature park Hoher Vogelsberg. It is one of the sources of the Nidder. The Gederner See is not a natural lake. It was created in the 18th century as a fishing water by damming a source stream flowing into the Nidder. Its flat bank area makes it an ideal bathing lake with very good bathing water quality and a water temperature of up to 24 ° C. On its banks there is a campsite, a boat rental and a family holiday village run by the German Recreation Agency.
